Lisa Jo White was born and raised in Michigan where she grew up riding and showing Arabians. At the age of eleven Lisa was showing against adults at the U.S. Nationals (no Youth Nationals at that time!). By the age of seventeen, Lisa had won 491 championships in stock seat and saddle seat equitation, English pleasure, western pleasure, side saddle, and native costume. In 1990, shortly after her graduation from Michigan State University, Lisa met John White. It only took a short time for them to form a personal and a professional relationship. Together they created John White Stables, an extremely successful training facility that turned out dozens of champions.
Following John's death in 2009 Lisa has continued to operate and manage John White Stables. Today Lisa offers a competitive training and instruction program which specializes in the English performance horse as well as amateur and youth equitation riders. Her success as a trainer and instructor has continued to explode, with her riders winning multiple national championships year after year. The Arabian public has recognized Lisa's extraordinary success by awarding her, for the last three years, the Arabian Horse Times Reader's Choice Instructor of the Year Award. Lisa's professional peers have also recognized her achievements by naming her the Arabian Professional and Amateur Horsemen's Association's Instructor of the Year for 2010, 2011 and 2013.
Lisa continues to excel in the show ring herself – training, riding, and driving in open competition. She is also a nationally recognized judge, judging numerous Class A competitions, regional championships, Scottsdale, Canadian nationals, and the National Academy Equitation Championships.
